Live Blogging Barack…

I’m going to try live blogging Barack Obama’s acceptance speech.  Looks like the stadium is full and everyone is ready to go.  My biggest curiosity is whether he is going to be more specific, or if it is going to be more liberal boilerplate and hopeful change.

8:43  The speech has been released and all the pundits are telling us what it means before he gives it. Can’t we just listen to the speech?

9:00   Here we go with the video. Now that this has become standard fare, to me they all look the same…

9:05 Wife calls, says wait for her.  DVR to the rescue, but now my time stamps will be wrong…

9:18  Here we go, the economy is terrible.  The reality is that today we learned that we had over 3% growth last quarter, unemployment is still at all time lows.  Things are not that bad. This is fundamentally dishonest.

9:24  I don’t know about a nation of whiners, but I sure see a party of whiners…

9:25   This is the change we are getting? The same old liberal line.  The government must fix all your problems. He’s Socialist and He’s Proud.

9:30  Which is it?  Should we start businesses and grow them successfully? Or should we punish business for suceeding?     

9:31 Obama just said we should be responsible for ourselves unless we aren’t.

9:33  Obama has just promised to stop buying middle east oil WITHOUT drilling more for our own oil. In other words, you must lower your standard of living.  Because if it were possible to quickly switch to alternative fuels that were cheaper than oil, we would have already done it.

9:34  Barack has just promised to federalize education ( … even more).  And now college education too!

9:35  $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

9:39  Barack is going to fix the bureaucracy to save money.  What leadership! No one has ever thought of that before!

9:41  Barack once again alludes that we should invade Pakistan, a Muslim ally armed with nuclear weapons.

9:43 This foreign policy talk is simply incoherent.   “We can’t fight terrorism in 70 countries by fighting in Iraq.”  So, Obama, how DO we fight it in 70 countries?

9:46  Once again with the false patriotism charge. Standard straw-man argumentation.

9:49 Pro-abortion, Pro-gun control, pro-gay rights, pro-illegal immigration.  Are you listening TN?

9:52  Hey Obama, I’m still waiting for one of those new ideas…  So far I’ve heard the standard liberal line.

9:55  The word I think Obama is looking for is FREEDOM.  That’s why people want to come to America, not some vague “Promise.”

Ok he’s finished.  My initial reaction?   Where are those McCain bumper stickers???
