The Senate today passed an $838,000,000,000 spending bill intended to stimulate the economy. How much money is this? That’s $2,974 for every man woman and child in the United States. If you have a family of four the government just borrowed $11,173 on your behalf to spend on stimulating the economy.
Now here is the big question: A year from now after (some of) the stimulus money has been spent, what will you get for your money? Will you be able to look around your community and see your $11,173?
To put this in perspective that works out to a grand total for the city of Tullahoma of about $50 million dollars. A year from now, will you be able to see $50,000,000 in benefit from the Stimulus Package?

It’s funny how Rep. Bart Gordon calls himself a “blue dog” but is basically walking in lock-step with the expansion of government while also wasting taxpayer money on trips to Europe for him and his wife.

Will we see $50,000,000 in benefit from the stimulus package?…NO, what we’ll see is huge inflation and higher taxes!…I’m no economist, but even I know you don’t save money by spending more…and another thing…any corporation who asked for the bailout will get what they deserve, the government will OWN them…look at what happened at GM..actually, when our state takes the money, WE will be owned by the Feds…that “gift”, which by the way, we are taking out of our pockets and the pockets of our children and grandchildren, is the beginning of, I believe, becoming a socialist country. My question is this, why are we sitting back and letting this happen? Do people not know what socialism is or do the majority of people in this country want the government to take control of their lives? What this country needs is a lesson in government, history and sociology…I’m afraid we are going to get the lesson the hard way!
