I don’t think we’re going to get out of this thing. I’m going to have to go out on faith.
On September 11, 2001 my wife, my 3 year old daugher and I were home enjoying the arrival of our new adopted son who was three weeks old at the time. Only a week before my wife had made the return flight home from Florida and my daughter and I had flown home the previous week. Our biggest concern had been the normal summer turbulence over the deep south.

Todd Beamer had a wife and children and a baby on the way. Thankfully, they were not with him on Flight 93 when it was hijacked by Muslim extremists. And thanks to the actions of Todd Beamer and others with him, there were a few less widows and orphans on that terrible day. Beamer and his associates discovered that day what all of us should understand. That at any moment, we may be called upon to stand up and face down evil.
Thanks to Todd Beamer for answering the call. And may America always have such fine men and women to stand up for the innocent.

I want to take this opportunity to thank the many people who helped me out during my state senate campaign. This was a great experience that allowed me to meet many new friends and visit exiting new places (Luminary, TN: google it.)
First I want to thank my family, especially my wife, and my employer for putting up with all of this for the last 6 months. It’s been great to travel with my children all over the district.
I also want to thank all of those who made phone calls, put up signs, stuffed envelopes and did all those tasks required for a seven county campaign.
A special thanks to all those who donated the money which made it possible to run.
Thanks to those organizations who sponsored candidate forums which included: Franklin County GOP, Warren County GOP, Coffee County GOP, Franklin County COC, Manchester COC, & WMSR radio.
Thanks also to the other 5 candidates who ran. I have an even greater respect now for all candidates.
Congratulations to Mike Niederhauser (R) and Eric Stewart (D), the winners of their parties nominations.
I look forward to supporting our good Republican candidates in the November elections.
Thanks & good luck to all…
P.S. Alas, the peril of being specific. I left out the TV forum sponsored by the Grundy County Republican Party. One of the best events we had. Thanks to Michelle who points it out in the comments.

Welcome back to the blog of Lynn Sebourn. I suspended my blogging activities while I was campaigning for the Republican nomination for State Senate in the 14th district.
Unfortunately for me, I was defeated in the primary by local businessman Mike Niederhauser. Congratulations to Mike. He just kept getting better and better as the campaign progressed. Mike is a long time local businessman in the Tullahoma/Manchester area. He will be running in the November elections against Franklin county candidate, Eric Stewart.
I will have much more to say about this race and others as the year progresses.
In the meantime, I have included on the right links to local, state, and federal blogs and news sources. If you know of any local links I am missing please send me an email and I will include them if I think it is suitable. I am focusing on conservative or straight news links in southern Tennessee.
Also a quick note about comments. I have first post comment moderation. This means the first few times you post here I must approve your comments.

I’ll have more to say in later posts about my campaign. For now, thanks for reading…
